Introduction

The Administration, Registration and Examination Department at Horizon University College is responsible for managing core academic administrative functions in alignment with institutional policies and the requirements of the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR).

The department oversees academic planning and coordination, student registration processes, examination scheduling and administration, and the maintenance of accurate academic records. It also supports academic units by coordinating operational activities and ensuring the consistent implementation of academic procedures throughout each semester.

In addition, the department contributes to the effective administration of academic processes by coordinating with relevant support units, monitoring academic progression in accordance with institutional regulations, and ensuring adherence to established academic and behavioral policies. The department is also responsible for developing and maintaining the Institutional Academic Calendar, which defines academic and operational schedules across the institution.

Goals

Goal 1: To plan and manage academic and academic support operations in alignment with institutional policies and the requirements of the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR), including coordination with the Centre for Continuing Learning.

Goal 2: To ensure the implementation of institutional policies that maintain a safe, respectful, and non-discriminatory academic environment.

Goal 3: To administer student registration processes accurately and maintain secure, confidential academic records in accordance with data protection standards.

Goal 4: To administer examinations in a structured and consistent manner, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in the publication of results.

Goal 5: To provide accurate and reliable academic and institutional data to relevant departments and decision-making bodies to support planning and continuous improvement.

Services

The department oversees administrative and regulatory processes related to student records, registration, and academic progression in accordance with institutional policies and the requirements of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. It ensures that all procedures are implemented consistently and documented appropriately across academic programs.

The department provides the following administrative services:

Identity cards are issued based on enrollment status and remain valid for a defined academic period. All individuals are required to carry their identity cards while on campus for verification purposes.

Functions

Administration, registration & examination department is the backbone of the university. Its main functions are:

Examination

Examination arrangements will be done by the examination department, examination schedule will be released prior to the start of the class based on the student strength.
Following are the exams conduct in a semester:

  • Final Exam.
  • Re-sit Exam & Mitigation Exam.

Graduation Requirements

Bachelor of Business Administration / Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting degree is awarded to a student upon fulfilling the following requirements:

  • Students enrolled for a Full time Undergraduate Program must have completed the program within a maximum duration of 6 years and attempted not more than 180 credits. Those enrolled for a Part time Undergraduate program must have completed the program within a maximum duration of 7.5 years and attempted not more than 180 credits.
  • The successful completion of 120 credit hours.
  • The number of credit hours as specified in the core, major and concentration.

Achievement of CGPA not less than 2.00 in the following:

  • Overall 120 credits earned.
  • In Major / Concentration Courses.
  • Students must attain a minimum of “C” grade in every Capstone course.
  • Students are required to fill the graduation application along with fee as applicable.
  • Recommended for graduation by Graduation Board.
